Change Begins From Within
A collaborative approach to meaningful, lasting change.
I’m Shannon Sargent, a clinical hypnotherapist based in Victoria, BC. I believe meaningful change does not come from simply knowing what we should do differently. Often, the patterns we want to change are rooted in thoughts, beliefs, and responses operating beneath our everyday awareness.
That is what drew me to hypnotherapy. My approach is collaborative, practical, and personalized - creating space to explore those patterns and access the internal resources that can support meaningful, lasting change.
Why Hypnotherapy?
I have always been curious about how people are shaped by their environments, perceptions, and experience - and how we create meaning in ways that influence our thoughts, behaviours, and outlooks. A constant seeker myself, it was through my own exploration that I found hypnotherapy: a tangible approach to understanding how our beliefs, patterns, and internal responses can influence the way we think, feel, and behave.
I completed an intensive hypnotherapy training program through the Academy of Clinical Hypnotherapy, combining classroom study with supervised practice experience. What drew me most to the work was its collaborative nature: hypnotherapy is not about someone else taking control. It’s about helping you access your own capacity for insight, perspective, and change.
I bring curiosity, compassion, and practicality to my work, with the goal of creating a space where you can explore what’s getting in the way without judgement - and begin moving toward what you want instead.
What You Can Expect
Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process. You remain aware and in control throughout the session, and we will work together toward the goals that matter to you.
I take time to understand what you are experiencing, what you would like to change, and what may be keeping the current pattern in place. From there, sessions are tailored to you rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
My goal is for you to feel comfortable, respected, and actively involved in the process.
